Good vibe and interesting selection! We loved that we could get a craft cocktail and delicious snacks such as milk and cookies! Plus they had an interesting twist on a side of fries with cheese and seaweed power on top. The bouncers were very gracious and were able to get us in very shortly after we were quoted a 30+ min wait. I guess there was a reservation cancellation. It was great. Would go back.

TL:DR-Great drinks, even better service, and a cool, dark, edgy, classically NYC vibe. Stopped in on a recent work trip to NY and had such a great experience I came back the very next night. The name 'Death and Co' is known by most cocktail enthusiasts partially because of their excellent books utilized by both the aspiring home bartender and seasoned veteran alike. After visiting their original East Village location, I can say they definitely live up to the hype. The menu is both diverse and intuitive enough to cater to most everyone. If, for some reason, nothing appeals to you or you manage to try every drink off the menu, you can always tap into the vast knowledge of the staff, and they are sure to meet your needs. The staff's experience is not only apparent in their spec knowledge but also in the level of service; perfectly paced (the waiter always seems to come over at the right time), amicable personalities, and surprisingly fast service once an order is in. The waiter even took notice off our repeat visit and offered us shots of our choice on the way out, I can see why this is a neighborhood favorite not to mention global namesake. Will certainly be back next time I'm in town!

This place is so amazing, it's been here for such a long time too and survived all the NYC madness! Excellent cocktails and the menu is separated into sections by feeling and flavor. The servers are very helpful and can recommend you some fantastic drinks. Vibe is super nice too, all dark and sultry inside. A great place for a great drink with friends.

Oh, a bucket list bar for sure. Death and co was at the top of my list in terms of must visit spots for my trip. After all, I own all of their books because they are so amazing. In any case, Death and co was quite the spectacle. Dimly lit. Intimate. Lively. You step inside and take a time machine 100 years ago to a prohibitionist style bar. The vibes are insane. The interior is crafted beautifully. The bar? Ornate. I grabbed 2 drinks: moonshooters (house special) and a paper plane (had to get a modern classic). The moon shooters was great. It's a tiki-esque cocktail that is incredibly balanced. A little bit funky with the cachaca. I am on a tiki kick and I loved the creative approach to a tiki drink while maintaining the essence of a minimalist, classic approach and presentation. Obviously, the paper plane was great. A modern classic with some amazing, robust flavor. The bartender was awesome. He was dishing drinks on my half of the bar with ease. He was happy to chat with other guests and was giving out recommendations to myself and other travelers. A stunning, memorable experience I hope I can embark on again soon.
